Eve Ensler's acclaimed play about women's diverse life experiences, told in hilarious and heart-warming stories, has been hailed as a national stage sensation and lauded by theater critics across the country.
An encore presentation of last year's successful production, The Vagina Monologues is being performed by a cast of Caltech students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
This benefit performance is being held in support of V-Day, a project to raise awareness and funds for organizations that work to stop violence against women and girls. Caltech's observation of V-Day, through its community production of the play, will be a part of global antiviolence activities to be held in 76 countries on February 4.
"This is an opportunity for the Caltech community--women and men--to come together and take a stand against violence in all forms," said event organizer Rachel Niemer.
All proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women.
Tickets are $5 for Caltech students (with I.D.) and $15 for all others, and can be purchased at 1-888-2CALTECH, or see http://events.caltech.edu/ for more information.
