Forbes magazine has named Caltech as one of America's best employers, listing it first in the education subcategory and in seventh place out of 500 employers on the 2022 midsize employer ranking.
Julia McCallin, associate vice president for human resources and chief human resources officer, welcomed the recognition of Caltech, saying, "Our community makes Caltech a great place to work and study. Caltech is a caring and supportive community that genuinely values individuals' contributions and encourages a diversity of thoughts and ideas."
The employers recognized by the ranking were identified in an independent survey of 60,000 American employees working for companies with more than 1,000 workers in the United States. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from respondents who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to friends and family.
Describing the Institute as "a cutting-edge private research university," Forbes notes that Caltech "boasts one of the nation's lowest student-to-faculty ratios at three-to-one. Students have unparalleled access to world-renowned faculty members, some of whom have received the National Medal of Science and the Nobel Prize."
