PASADENA—The California Institute of Technology's Board of Trustees elected Dr. David D. Ho as a new board member on September 9.
Ho, a 1974 Caltech graduate, is one of the world's foremost AIDS researchers, and is renowned for his promising treatment protocol. He has made significant progress in fighting the disease with a "cocktail" of antiviral drugs. Ho is currently director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, an affiliate of Rockefeller University, where he is a tenured profrs have received the annual California Scientist of the Year award. On the Caltech faculty there are 75 fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; and on the faculty and Board of Trustees, 68 members of the National Academy of Sciences and 43 members of the National Academy of Engineering.
