This event was digitally recorded and is available for viewing on the Caltech Theater site.Caltech's annual Science Writing Symposium brings together a panel of prominent science writers to address the challenges of communicating technical information to general audiences. Panelists discuss their work and respond to questions and comments from the audience. This year's symposium features:
- Christof Koch, Caltech Professor of Cognitive & Behavioral Biology and of Computation & Neural Systems
- Leonard Mlodinow, former member of the Caltech faculty before becoming a fulltime writer; coauthor of the forthcoming A Briefer History of Time with Stephen Hawking
- Margaret Wertheim, internationally noted science writer and commentator
Open to the Caltech community and the general public, this symposium is especially relevant to students who are fulfilling Caltech's "Core 1" science writing requirement.
The event will be held in the Sharp Lecture Hall (Room 155 in Arms, buidling #25 on the campus map [PDF]). Refreshments will be served.
