6th Annual Early Childhood STEM Conference
The Children's Center at Caltech is hosting the 6th annual Early Childhood STEM Conference (ECSTEM) next Friday and Saturday, February 3-4, at the Hilton Pasadena. The ECSTEM Conference is intended to promote and increase awareness about the importance of introducing Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) education in early childhood education (birth through eight years). The conference intends to provide continuing education, professional development and sharing of research to better understand the needs of early childhood leaners in regards to STEM. We aim to bring together renowned research and educators to inform and inspire early childhood professionals.
This year we welcome some of the brightest minds working towards initiatives in early childhood STEM education: Caltech's own Konstantin Batygin will be our opening keynote speaker sharing his recent work and perspectives; our Saturday morning panel of experts include Chip Donohue, who co-authored a recent report for Early STEM Matters; Susan Nall Bales and Elizabeth McClure who co-authored, and Peggy Ashbrook who consulted for STEM Starts Early, a report from Washington expected to be released later this month.
