ABCs of Course Design - A CTLO Short Course on Pedagogy
Are you planning on teaching your own class one day soon or in the future? Or are you working on your teaching statement and realize that you need to brush up on your pedagogical knowledge?
The ABCs of Course Design is a two-afternoon short course for graduate students and post-docs in which you will learn about (and practice) the process of designing a course from start to finish, developing learning outcomes, incorporating active learning activities, building assessments, and engaging every student in your class. By the end of this short course, you will have the main tools you need to design a great class of your own, in addition to a draft plan for your own class!
Facilitated by Dr. Jenn Weaver, Associate Director for University Teaching at the CTLO, the 6th iteration of the ABCs of Course Design will take place from 2:30pm – 4:30pm on Tuesday July 23rd and Thursday July 25th in the CTLO's main workshop space (Room 360, CSS). RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/ABCsCourseDesign. Please note - space is limited - by RSVP'ing, you are committing to attending both sessions.
