Advanced Beginner American Smooth Tango Dance Class

Learn the elegant, flowing moves of American Smooth ballroom in this four-week series. The first two weeks will cover competitive smooth waltz, and the second two weeks will cover competitive smooth tango. This class will build on the summer and fall social ballroom courses.

This week is the second of two classes in Smooth Tango. We will be covering bronze patterns and a bronze routine this week.

About the Instructor:

Dr. Oleg Sindiy, is a recent graduate of Purdue University and is currently working at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Before joining the Caltech Ballroom Team, he was a member of Purdue University's Latin & Ballroom Dance Team. He has been in finals and won events at the American Bronze Smooth level.

Cost:

  • Free for Caltech students (with ID).
  • $3 per class or $11/series (4 weeks) in advance for Caltech affiliates and alumni and for students of other universities (with ID).
  • $6 per class or $22/series (4 weeks) in advance for all others.

Prerequisites:
Students should have knowledge of the bronze standard or bronze smooth syllabus. No partner required. We will be learning upper-level bronze choreography in this class.
