Connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) are undergoing an unprecedented rate of development. We are seeing a tipping point in underlying technologies, leading to a make-over of the automotive industry, and the deployment of intelligent systems in the roadway infrastructure. We are also seeing the advent of smart cities that act as attractors for CAVs and adjacent technologies. Newer business models such as shared mobility are also providing market opportunities for CAV. Our presentation will describe the state of the large public-private ecosystem engaged in encouraging the safe deployment of CAVs.
