Alpine Club Talk
Beckman Institute Auditorium
Ski Mountaineering Around the Sierra
Cody Finke,
Graduate Student,
Environmental Science & Engineering,
Caltech,
I will continue my crusade to promote ski mountaineering to the Caltech Alpine Club by showing the diversity of terrain and accessibility and skills required that exists across our wonderful range of light.
I will show highlights from diverse terrain on a hut trip in Sequoia National Park, to highly accessible couloir skiing less than a mile from the car up McGee Creek, to some winter camping in the Baldwin Cirque (never recommend), to some steep skiing up Convict Creek, and some rarely skied terrain on the Great Western Divide.
The talk will be followed by a reception with free refreshments.
