Anne Hills possesses a beautiful voice, is an extremely talented songwriter, and has been a very effective collaborator with a wide range of some of the great folksingers of our times, including Bob Gibson and Tom Paxton. She was honored with the 2002 Kate Wolf Memorial Award, and she's certainly no slouch with a guitar or banjo. She is very personable and has a strong sense of social justice in her music, as in her life.

"One of the most glorious voices in all of contemporary folk music."
 — The Chicago Tribune

Her credits are many and quite varied. She has toured and recorded with Priscilla Herdman and Cindy Mangsen, combining three wonderful and distinct voices and resulting in four memorable albums. Anne has a close association with the fine Chicago songwriter, Michael Smith, having recorded an album with him, as well as producing one of his albums and performing many of his songs. The two of them also recorded an album and did a bit of touring with Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen in 2003. Under American Skies, a fine 2001 album with Tom Paxton also lead to a national tour. Anne has a gift for finding excellent songs by not-so-well known songwriters and making them her own. "Follow the Road," and other songs show her to be a fine writer herself. Don't miss this intimate evening with a wonderful performer whose visits to the Los Angeles area are quite limited.
