One Among Us: How Machines and Humans are Sharing a Workspace

Venue: The Sea by Alexander's, Palo Alto

6:00 p.m. Reception
7:00 p.m. Dinner and Program

As drones and robots are becoming more commonplace, from Amazon's robot-powered warehouses and its plan to use drones for delivery to medical robots performing surgeries or rehabilitating patients, a new autonomous future beckons. Learn how Caltech's Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies is promoting a synergic environment where machines and humans share a workspace, and addressing research to translate it into reality with Mory Gharib, the Hans W. Liepmann Professor of Aeronautics and Bioinspired Engineering, and Director of the Graduate Aerospace Laboratories.
