"...a heady rush of tapping heels, dazzling costumes and insistent rhythms" Kansas City Star
One of Mexico's most popular exports returns with a veritable fiesta of culture and folklore. The history of Mexican dance is long and rich, starting with the ancient civilizations that flourished in the country preceding the arrival of the first Europeans. Today, that legacy reflects a cultural melting pot, combining Mexican, Indian, Spanish, and African elements. The company celebrates that diverse history and the people of Mexico in colorful performances that have earned standing ovations from Cuba to Malaysia. The music will be performed live on authentic string instruments.
Join us for dinner at The Athenaeum, Caltech's famous faculty club, before tonight's performance. The menu will include tropical ceviche, stuffed chicken breast on mole sauce, wild mushroom tamale and nopales, warm cajeta pudding, and your choice of beverage. The cost for the 5:30 p.m. dinner and a prime top-price seat for the performance is $91 per person. |
Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli de Veracruz will also perform in special one-hour school-day performance at 10:00 AM. |
