Ballroom Taster Class

Whether you're new to Caltech or just to ballroom, this class will get you started. The taster class features a sample lesson in the Cha-Cha, one of the dances we'll teach in our Beginning Ballroom class this term. Spend an hour learning to dance, then hang around after to chat about life and dancing at caltech. No prior experience or partner necessary. There might be cookies.

This is a Caltech/student-only event. We ask the general public to instead come to one of our classes starting this fall. IDs will be checked.

Prerequisites: No special attire, partner, or previous dance experience needed. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that won't fall off while dancing.

About the Instructor: Jay Daigle is an alumnus of the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company, the Cambridge University Dancesport Team, and the XS Latin Formation Team. He is the Caltech Ballroom Team coach and is an active competitor in International Standard Ballroom.

Hannah Hoersting is an alumna of the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company.
