Blues dancing is a historical style of dance that evolved alongside blues music back in the 1910s and 1920s, characterized by a strong sense of rhythmic movement, grounded posture, relaxed motion and musicality. With the dance's focus on partner connection and movements driven by the music, blues is one of the most rewarding social dances around! By the end of this beginner series, we will have covered the basics of blues aesthetics, connection, pulse and musicality, as well as tossed in a ton of awesome moves for you to break out on the dance floor.

About the Instructor: Aaron has been Blues dancing for the last four years after falling in love with dance at the start of his time at Pomona College. He co-founded and ran Underground Blues, a Blues scene at the Claremont Colleges, and currently teaches and DJs throughout California, as well as competing at events across the nation. He has studied a number of different dance styles over the years, but his heart will always be lost to Lindy Hop and Blues and he hopes to share that love with every one of his students.
