Black History Month Speaker: Claudia Alexander
A recent recipient of the Emerald Honor for Women of Color in Research and Engineering, Claudia Alexander was one of the project managers of NASA's Galileo mission to Jupiter, which ended September 21, 2003, with a plunge into the planet's atmosphere. She also serves as project scientist for the European Space Agency's Rosetta mission to a comet. She received her doctorate in space plasma physics at the University of Michigan and a master's degree in geophysics and space physics from UCLA.
