Broceliande (pronounced "bro SAY lee ahnd"), a fine energetic vocal quartet from the San Francisco Bay area, is back! If you attended their concert here a couple of years ago, you know the energy and fun that is in store. The concert will feature an extraordinary blend of winter season and Christmas music featuring up to 4-part vocal harmonies and accompanied by Celtic harp, cello, guitar, bouzouki, oboe, flute, melodeon, recorder, whistle, and drums. Their vocals and harmonies are often enthusiastic and rousing, as well as hauntingly beautiful and melancholy. Their album Sir Christèmas received good reviews in both Dirty Linen and Sing Out! magazines. Broceliande's repertoire is not the standard mix of popular carols, but an interesting assortment of medieval and Renaissance songs.
