Have you been worried about a friend or colleague who appears unwell or in distress, but aren't sure how to intervene? Do you feel uncomfortable engaging in a conversation about their wellbeing, or don't know how to refer to appropriate resources?

Caltech Connect training is a 2-hour interactive program offered by Student Counseling Services. This training enables students to identify signs of distress, offers concrete strategies for intervention, and provides information about resources and referral options. While Caltech Connect has a particular focus on suicide prevention, the skills you will learn are applicable to a range of situations that you may encounter with your peers.

We recognize that sensitive conversations can be difficult, and aim to help you feel better equipped to manage these situations. Counseling Services will offer Caltech Connect training to the community on a regular basis. All graduate and undergraduate students are welcome - please join us! The signup link is below, and you will receive a Zoom link closer to the date of the training.

For more information, please contact Lee H. Coleman, Ph.D., ABPP by email at [email protected] or visit RSVP for this session - students only.
