Caltech Glee Club
- Public Event
Nancy Sulahian, Music Director
William Schmidt, Accompanist
The program will include early music from Mission Santa Barbara; pieces by Viadana, Handel, Haydn, and Fauré; Hungarian folksongs arranged by Béla Bártok; music on Shakespeare texts by Hughes and Loose; and a spiritual arrangement by Jester Hairston, with an advance taste of the holidays from the Caltech Chamber Singers.
The group—composed of Caltech students, staff, postdocs, faculty, physicians, JPL employees, alumni, and community members—performs in a wide variety of musical styles and languages, from the Renaissance to the 21st century. The choir presents two full concerts a year and also sings at smaller events on campus. The Caltech Glee Club is a founding member and annual participant of the Pacific Southwest Intercollegiate Choral Association festival.
The concert is free, with no tickets or reservations required.
