Caltech Library Workshop - "Authors' Rights in Publishing"
This session discusses the basic principles of US Copyright law, the Caltech Copyright Policy, and the Caltech Faculty Open Access Policy -- the three "authoritative" sources governing Caltech authors' rights. Using a case study approach, participants will review their legal rights and responsibilities as authors and creators at Caltech and analyze professional situations where those rights can be asserted, transferred, or lost in the process of publishing, research data sharing, and other forms of scholarly communication.
