This program will include Sarasate's "Carmen Fantasy"; Tchaikovsky's "theme and Variations" from Suite No. 3; Mendelssohn's "Reformation" Symphony; and Suppe's "Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna."
Winner of the 2008 Sphinx Competition and a Naxos recording artist, violinist Danielle Belen has soloed with symphonies across the United States, including the Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Nashville and San Francisco Symphonies. A graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music and the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles, Belen is now on the faculty of the Colburn School. She was recently appointed as Concertmasterof the New West Symphony and has appeared as solist with the orchestra. Belen plays on a 1709 Allessandro Gagliono violin fromthe Mandell Collection of Southern California.
