Reciprocity relationships for gravitational-wave interferometers
Yuri Levin,
Monash University,
Some reciprocity relations will be presented or sketched out that may allow one to take shortcuts in computing a linear response of the interferometer to small perturbations. Applications of our formalism include creep noise, fast computations of thermal deformations of mirrors, computations of thermal noise in non-trivial geometries (e.g., gratings), and possibly general optical response to mechanical displacements. Another application is computation of the quadrupole moment tensor of a neutron star with an internal magnetic field of arbitrary geometry.
