As China expands its presence on the world-stage and becomes a dominant player in business and economics, Chinese language will gain equal impact and importance. In fact, Mandarin Chinese was recently ranked the second-most widely used business language on the planet. In light of these issues, it is imperative that students of Chinese language get a chance to practice their craft with true native speakers of Mandarin Chinese.

Hence, the Caltech Chinese Students Association (CaltechC) has organized monthly 'Chinese Corners' for native speakers to mingle with newly minted students of Mandarin Chinese at Caltech. Conversation topics will be available from beginner to advanced levels; these events will be a boon to language study and cultural exchange to boot.

All students of Chinese language, American-Born-Chinese, as well as 1st and 2nd generation Chinese students are welcome. Literacy in Chinese is not required; this is a chance to practice speaking for all levels of Chinese speakers. We look forward to seeing you there!
