CMA presents "A Night of Viewing through the Mount Wilson Telescopes"

Special Event for CMA Members (and Guests) Only

Come join us for a night of discovery and wonder. Based on a lottery, 42 lucky CMA members will be able to probe the night sky with the 60-inch and 100-inch telescopes at the Mount Wilson Observatory. Each member can bring one guest. Because of telescope viewing restrictions, guests must be at least 16 years old. The cost will be $80 per person—$160 for a member plus guest—which covers observatory fees, round-trip transportation, food, and beverages.
On May 26, two groups will be transported by bus to the observatory for a half night of sky-gazing assisted by a telescope guide. The lottery will determine if you are in Group 1 or Group 2. Because of Mount Wilson Observatory restrictions, participants must use the provided bus service and cannot drive themselves.
Group 1: Leaves JPL at 6:30 pm and arrives at Mount Wilson at 7:30 pm;
telescope viewing 8:00 pm–11:35 pm, then group returns to JPL
Group 2: Leaves JPL at 10:45 pm and arrives at Mount Wilson at 11:45 pm;
telescope viewing 12:15 am–4:00 am, then group returns to JPL
Because of the limited space available, we will conduct a lottery drawing. To participate in the lottery, you must be a CMA member and submit your name (and your guest's name) by sending an email to [email protected] by Friday, May 5. If you are not a member, go to http://cma.jpl.nasa.gov/pdf/cma_join.pdf for instructions on how to become one.
Lottery participants will be notified of the winners via email, and winners' names will be posted to the CMA web site, at http://cma.jpl.nasa.gov/upcoming.html, on Friday, May 12. You do not need to be present to win. Lottery winners must pay the event fee (of $80 per person) by cash or check; payment details will be provided later.
