6:00pm to 9:00pm
Add to Cal
Dr. Wesley Huntress, Jr., Director, Geophysical Laboratory,

CMA members and guests only

Dr. Huntress moved from an active science career at JPL to a management career at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC, where for ten years he served in several high-level Space and Earth Science administrative positions requiring extensive involvement with the Agency, the Administration, and Congress. Dr. Huntress will describe the transition shock, the attitude adjustments, and the extreme changes required to survive such a move and to work productively in an environment totally alien to the scientific world. Having completed his exploration of Planet Washington and the hostile life resident there, Dr. Huntress has now returned to his native Planet Science and landed at the Carnegie Institution of Washington.

Your presence at this annual event honoring the 1999 recipient of the CMA Excellence in Management Award is welcome.
