CMA Presents "Both Sides Now: The Dual Roles of Managers and Employees in Workplace Satisfaction"
Presented by Caltech Management Association, Caltech Business and Finance, and JPL Human Resources
Of course, managers are responsible for engaging and retaining talented people. And an individual owns his or her career. If these two roles are well understood, why are 55% of employees "disengaged" (Gallup Poll) and 33% intensely negative (Towers Perrin Poll)?
Sharon Jordan-Evans and Beverly Kaye will give managers and employees concrete tips for improving workplace satisfaction, morale, and productivity. Managers will hear about ways to engage their colleagues by employing research-supported strategies in day-to-day interactions. Employees will learn how to get more of what they want from work, and to partner with their managers to identify things that can be improved — without jumping ship or disengaging. Jordan-Evans and Kaye will sign copies of their new book, Love It, Don't Leave It: 26 Ways to Get What You Want at Work, which will be available for purchase. In addition, the Caltech Management Association will raffle five free copies of the book to members who sign up outside Beckman on the day of the event.
