Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training - Unit 6 - Fire Safety/Suppression
Location: Central Engineering Services, CES rm 104
Unit 6 - Fire Safety/Suppression will cover basic methods to identify and reduce fire hazards around you. This class also includes a hands on portion to practice putting out a fire with a Fire Extinguisher trainer.
This CERT class will be taught by Caltech Staff who are professionals in crisis and emergency response.
Come learn how to help yourself, your family, neighbors, and workplace following a catastrophic disaster. Take the CERT training and learn emergency preparedness, and skills to better prepare you in emergency situations. The program covers: Disaster Psychology, Terrorism, Disaster Preparedness, Light Search and Rescue, Fire Safety/Fire Suppression, and Disaster Medical Operations. The CERT class will conclude with a disaster simulation for those who complete all 8 units.
Participants must be pre-registered; you can take the courses that interest you without committing to the 9 units but must complete all class sessions to receive a CERT completion certificate and to attend the final disaster simulation.
