Concerto Italiano
- Public Event
Rinaldo Alessanrini founded his ensemble, Concerto Italiano, in 1984. Today it is recognized as a unique force in the interpretation of the Baroque music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Of its 2017 Carnegie Hall debut, Broadway World said "As soon as they started playing...I knew that all was right with the world—or, at least, for that moment, with these musicians, in this temple of music."
The array of critical awards received for its recordings confirms the outstanding quality of Concerto Italiano's performances. As Gramophone noted, "There is perhaps no Baroque group around today that can do the simple and obvious things to such exciting effect."
