Advocating for the Future of Space Exploration
Jack Kiraly, Director of Government Relations, The Planetary Society,

In an era marked by near-daily advancements in our understanding of the Cosmos, the future of space science depends not only on groundbreaking research, but also on effective advocacy. This seminar will cover the essentials of the legislative process and the role of science advocates, examine the importance of public policy in shaping the future of space exploration, highlight strategies of effective communication with policymakers, and explore the unique value of a public space program in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape. Concluding with a brief overview of the post-election policy landscape, participants will gain insights into what is known—and what remains uncertain—with the incoming Administration and Congress. The discussion will be led by Jack Kiraly, the Washington, D.C.-based representative of The Planetary Society, the world's leading independent space advocacy organization.
