Doc's Elite Basketball Academy
Caltech Head Men's Basketball Coach Dr. Oliver Eslinger will be directing two types of basketball camps this summer. Doc's Youth Basketball Academy is for boys who will be entering 3rd-8th grades in the fall, and Doc's Elite Basketball Academy is for the serious high school player, entering grades 9-12.
There will be two, five-day sessions of the youth academy, June 16-20 and June 23-27. For those in 3rd-5th grades, camp time is 9:00 a.m. to noon while grades 6th-8th have a time slot of 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The elite academy spans two days, June 27 and June 28. It will begin Friday evening and go all day on Saturday.
"Our goal is to teach fundamental aspects of the game," Coach Eslinger said. "We don't just roll the balls out there and play unorganized games. Crucial and advantageous strategies will be presented that both engage the camper and show him how to have fun while executing skills."
College coaches and players will comprise the staff for both academies.
