"Down in the Valley" Screening & Discussion
A screening of Down in the Valley, a Cannes-nominated film starring Edward Norton and Evan Rachel Wood, will be followed by a Q&A session with the director, David Jacobson.
Set in the present-day San Fernando Valley, Down in the Valley revolves around a delusional man who believes that he's a cowboy and the relationship that he starts with a rebellious young woman.
Free admission and lunch/refreshments will be provided.
After the moving screening participate in a FREE hands-on workshop led by David Jacobson, professional director and screenwriter, where YOU get to learn how to create a documentary! It will be held June 1 and June 2 in Annenberg 105 with lunch and refreshments provided on both days. See the schedule below.
David Jacobson, professional director and screenwriter, will lead a hands-on introductory workshop on how to create a documentary. This workshop is free and open to the public, and everyone will get a chance to personally direct, use professional cameras, and edit raw footage. The final products will be published online on Totem's website and possibly the lab websites. This will be a comprehensive introduction, and everyone is welcome to attend! Lunch and refreshments will be provided. This is a 2-day event; however, you do not need to attend both days. It will be held from June 1 to 2 in Annenberg 105.
