Ethnic Visions Film Series: Zoot Suit
Zoot Suit (1981) explores how Zoot Suit culture helped World War II–era Chicanos embrace their cultural identity. The story is based in part on the real-life Sleepy Lagoon murders and the subsequent Zoot Suit Riots in 1940s Los Angeles. Professor Robert Rosenstone, host of the series, will lead a post-film discussion. The screening is free and open to all.
