A foundational contributor in the field of computer architecture, Lynn Conway experienced great success in Silicon Valley as her work contributed to supporting the boom of Silicon Valley start-ups in the 1980's. She continued her distinguished career at the University of Michigan, where she remains a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Emerita. Ultimately, her work has created a revolution that came to life in the form of the Intel Pentium microprocessors and their contemporaries.

Sadly, Lynn also experienced a great deal of discrimination when she was outed as a transgendered woman, and was forced to rebuild her career in the closet. Come join us as she discusses her work, her struggles, her decision to come out, and why she is optimistic for the future in an era of dramatic socio-technological change. Lunch will be provided.
