An interesting portrait of post-war West Germany. A sports event of great importance to Germany and its sense of self-identity in the world community after the devastating Nazi era. Nationalism, Chauvinism? Of course. Nevertheless, one of the great sport events that surprised all the experts and fans. The Magnificent Magyars (42 wins, 7 draws, 1 loss 1950 – 56) loose what could not be lost – the "Amateur" Germans win, what could not be won!
