Tomohiko Tanabe, University of Tokyo,

The International Linear Collider (ILC) is a next-generation e+e-
collider at the energy frontier.  The first part of the talk will
review the physics case of the ILC, focusing on the precision Higgs
studies and some of their implications on new physics, as well as
selected topics on supersymmetry and dark matter searches.  In the
second part, the status of the accelerator and detector R&D will be
briefly reviewed, along with the efforts toward realizing the ILC with
a focus on activities in Japan.
