In the various effective theoretic descriptions of gravitating spinning bodies, there is trouble determining which couplings specify a spinning black hole beyond the three point amplitude and gravitational Compton amplitude (through the fourth order in spin). Using the classical Mathisson–Papapetrou–Dixon theory of compact bodies, we identify a stress tensor which acts as the source of Kerr and from that stress tensor we find body multipole moments in sense of Dixon. These moments fix additional couplings beyond the three point amplitude. Our findings reproduce the famed Newman-Janis shift and make independent contributions to some processes, such as the gravitational bending of light. We give a proposal for linear in Riemann couplings for a black hole to all orders in spin and discuss possibilities for couplings at higher order in Riemann.
