How Voyager Inspired a Nation

One of the 27 songs on Voyager's "Golden Record" is a medieval Georgian song called "Chakrulo", a polyphonic acapella anthem dedicated to the long history of struggle for independence for that ancient country. Georgian filmmaker Ramaz Bluashvili will tell the story of how he and some of the original singers whose voices are on the Voyager record have been motivated by their connection to Voyager, JPL, and NASA to inspire a generation of Georgian youth to pursue a STEM education, and how the two spacecraft— billions of miles away—changed the life of a schoolboy and became a beacon of light and hope for a whole country.
