How ARE superheroes created? Geoffrey Lovely introduces us to the greatest superheroes ever to live in the entire universe. What makes each of those superheroes unique? Genetic mutation. The Nova film Cracking the Genetic Code will show that genetic mutations happens in all of us every day, so in our own ways, we are all superheroes.

This stunning high-definition movie will serve as the springboard for a lively discussion about the science behind the beauty and wonder of nature.

Geoffrey Lovely, a graduate student in Biochemistry at Caltech, will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion.

Recommended for grades 3 and up.
