The Passion of Joan of Arc, with Live Score Written and Performed by Caltech Student John Keith
The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) was a silent film. Danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer showed the famous trial and martyrdom of this historical figure almost exclusively through the expressive face of actress Maria Falconetti. What words could do justice to the extraordinary emotions portrayed in the film? Caltech graduate student in chemistry John Keith has added his own score to the film to create a fantastic film experience for the Caltech audience.
