Louisa Thomas is the author of Louisa: The Extraordinary Life of Mrs. Adams and Conscience: Two Soldiers, Two Pacifists, One Family--A Test of Will and Faith in World War I. She is a contributor to The New Yorker's website, a former senior editor and writer at Grantland, and a former Fellow at the New America Foundation. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Vogue, New York Magazine, and other places. 

In this lecture, Thomas will talk about the journeys of Louisa Catherine Adams, First Lady to John Quincy Adams—her journey across Europe during the Napoleonic wars, her journey to the United States, and the journey of her mind.
