Jim Malcolm, from Perthshire, Scotland, is a fine vocalist and musician who sings traditional and original songs accompanied by guitar and harmonica. He was most impressive when he performed at Caltech two years ago, as well as in his two shows here as a member of the group Old Blind Dogs, whom he left last summer.

Often quite funny, he is a very entertaining storyteller indeed. Dirty Linen wrote, "Malcolm has one of those pure, warm folk voices (two parts Archie Fisher, one part Dick Gaughan) that one never tires of listening to." The Living Tradition said he is "... one of the finest singing voices in Scotland in any style." Since his last performance here, he has released Tam o'Shanter & Other Tales and he expects to have a brand new album of Robert Burns songs available as well.
