Classifying vector bundles on complex projective spaces

A classical problem in topology is the following: given two vector bundles over a topological space, how can we determine whether or not they are isomorphic? There are certain standard approaches to such a question, but a full answer generally depends strongly on the base space. In this talk, I will survey results on this question for complex topological vector bundles on complex projective spaces. This includes my own work using "chromatic" generalized cohomology theories to approach the problem. This talk will be a gentle introduction to the more abstract tools involved.
