On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, the Juilliard String Quartet returns to Coleman's stage for the 19th time, more often than any artists other than the London String Quartet and founder Alice Coleman. "For a group known for its edge, its revolutionary tendencies, its intellectual bent, the Juilliard Quartet has developed a singular sound that is well matched in the four instruments. When they change color or formulate an attack, it is as one. Rarely is one aware of an instigator, for the four men allow the music to lead them." (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

Program:

  • Bartók: Quartet No. 3
  • Mozart: Quartet in E-flat Major, K. 428
  • Bartók: Quartet No. 6
