Juneteenth Keynote: The Magic Is in Us: Black Joy, Rage, and Community Care by Nick Daily

As Black people, we are witnessing a pendulum swing and backlash to strides and advances that we have seen in recent years. When our communities face seeming apocalypses, reflecting on how our ancestors sought survival and found magic in communities of rage, joy, and care is essential. This keynote may include topics specific to participant interests, including Black Fatigue (Winters, 2020); Black Refusal (McCadney & Daily, 2022); Black Tenderness (Hansteen-Izora, 2021); and Black Experiments in Joy (Civil, 2019); and individual & group reflection activities.
