Devices designed and built by teams of undergraduate students will compete against one another in the annual culmination of Caltech's famed ME 72 mechanical engineering course. Each year since 1984, students in Professor Erik Antonsson s class have staged the competition, and a large, enthusiastic audience always turns out to cheer them on. The contest is the final exam for a course that poses the real-world challenge of solving an ill-defined problem by building something. Admission is free.
