We all have unconscious biases that shape our understanding, decisions, and actions. This workshop will address the common types of unconscious/implicit biases and how we can consciously mitigate these from our everyday practices. Come discuss how implicit bias affects academia in systemic and structural processes like graduate admissions and how to avoid falling into the trap of "hiring for differences, and yet firing because we're not the same."
