Muse/ique presents Summer of Sound
MOVING PICTURES WITH CELLIST MATT HAIMOVITZ
From the murderous intrique of 1940's film noir to the silly classics of animation, this is pocorn fare the MUSE/IQUE way. Our cast includes pioneering cellist Matt Haimovitz playing one of the most thrilling pieces of cello music ever featured on film. The evening also stars Wendie Malick leading a fresh, humorous presentation of Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guid to the Orchestra, loved anew thanks to its prominence in the film Moonrise Kingdom. The musicians of MUSE/IQUE unfurl the work of Elmer Bernstein (Summer and Smoke), Jerry Goldsmith (The Russia House) and Erich Korngold (Deception). The event culminates in a world premiere, mixing music and images by award-winning composer Peter Golub.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking and mingling.
