No Más Bebés - Outdoor Film Screening
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, we are looking at laws and moments in history that brought us to where we are today. Join the Equity and Title IX Office, as well as the SAGE Council on Thursday, March 31st beginning at 7:30pm for a special screening of No Más Bebés at the Sherman Fairchild Library Amphitheater. This film explores the fight for reproductive rights after the forced sterilization of Latina immigrant mothers in Los Angeles in the 1960s and 1970s. It is important to note, that the same sterilizations were happening to African American mothers in Los Angeles around the same time. The film screening will begin at 7:30pm and will be following by a Q&A with film producer and researcher Virginia Espino. Bring your questions and blankets to sit on. Popcorn and snacks will be available. RSPV here: https://forms.gle/ZFGDhpRTSaK3HPQ89
