The Skinner--Urban method and the symmetric cube Bloch--Kato conjecture
Samuel Mundy,
Department of Mathematics,
Columbia University,
I will discuss the Skinner--Urban method, which aims to construct nontrivial classes in certain Bloch--Kato Selmer groups. I will then explain some recent work carrying out this method for symmetric cube Galois representations attached to modular forms; this involves p-adically deforming Eisenstein series and Galois representations for the exceptional group G_2.
