This holiday season, join OcTech, Caltech's choral octet, for a candlelit album release show! The show and the album, Stellata, feature some of our favorite holiday songs, including beloved pieces like Morten Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium and Franz Biebl's Ave Maria as well as reworked classics such as Miles Ramway's It Came Upon a Midnight Clear and Paul Mealor's In the Bleak Midwinter. With soaring melodies, lush harmonies, and heartfelt performances, Stellata offers a captivating listening experience that celebrates the spirit of the holidays. Whether you're a fan of ancient carols or contemporary arrangements, this album is sure to brighten your season.

Founded in 2021, OcTech brings together eight Caltech scientists united by a passion for complex and stunning choral music. The group has built a reputation for performing challenging eight-part repertoire that demands technical precision and pushes the boundaries of what a small, amateur ensemble can achieve. With performances at Caltech, Pasadena's Parson's Nose Theater, and in benefit concerts raising thousands for global causes, OcTech has captivated audiences and used their artistry for good. Now, with their albums Consona and Stellata, they invite listeners everywhere to share in this rich tapestry of sound, history, and connection.
