Tests of quantumness with trapped ions
Crystal Noel,
Duke University,
A test of quantumness is a protocol where a classical user issues challenges to a quantum device to determine if it exhibits non-classical behavior, under certain cryptographic assumptions. I will describe how we implement two types of tests on a trapped ion quantum computer and the results. These implementations show the power of trapped ion quantum computing, and I will discuss the future plans for expanded capabilities at the Duke Quantum Center.
